PITTSBURGH – A man is suing his employer over claims of not being compensated for overtime hours worked.
Matthew Freeman filed a complaint on Nov. 4 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against ECM Energy Services Inc., alleging violation of the Pennsylvania Minimum Wage Act and the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, Freeman, an employee of ECM, worked as a traffic director for the company and during his time of employment he was repeatedly required to work overtime. Although he claims he often worked for more than 40 hours per week, the defendant allegedly failed to provide Freemen with the appropriate compensation. Because of the defendant's alleged failure to supply fair pay, Freeman says suffered financial hardships. The plaintiff is suing the defendant, purporting that the company was in violation of a number of labor laws.
Freeman is seeking compensation for all legal fees, as well as back pay for all overtime hours worked. He is represented by Galvin B. Kennedy and Udyogi A. Hangawatte of Kennedy Hodges LLP in Houston.
