Salus University employee sues for alleged discrimination

Race

PHILADELPHIA -- A woman is suing her former employer for alleged age- and race-related discrimination.

Marilyn Washington filed a complaint Nov. 25 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Salus University, alleging her former employer unfairly discriminated against her because of both her age and race.

From 1986 until 2013, Washington was an employee working as a patient account clerk. During her time at Salus, Washington alleges she was a constant subject of criticism.

When she spoke out against the alleged actions against her, Washington alleges she was retaliated against by her supervisors.

She also claims she was unfairly accused of a workplace violation, and was terminated from her position on false pretenses.

Washington alleges the company was unjust in its treatment of her, and in violation of a number of labor laws.

Washington seeks compensation for all damages received and all legal fees. She is represented by David M. Koller of Koller Law, LLC in Philadelphia.
