PITTSBURGH – A legally blind man is suing Hard Rock Cafe over claims that he is unable to use the company's website.
Robert Jahoda filed a complaint on Aug. 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against Hard Rock Cafe International Inc., alleging violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
According to the complaint, Jahoda, a man who suffers visual impairment and uses a number of devices in order to accommodate his technological needs, purports that he was unable to navigate the Hard Rock Cafe website due to the company's failure to comply with ADA requirements. In response to the Title III of the ADA, companies are required to provide websites which can be used and enjoyed by all visitors, regardless of disability, the complaint state. Hard Rock Cafe's website, however contained a number of components which prevented Jahoda from using it, the complaint states.
Jahoda is seeking reparation for all wrongs committed by Hard Rock. He is represented by R. Bruce Carlson, Benjamin J. Sweet and Stephanie K. Goldin of Carlson, Lynch, Sweet and Kilpela LLP in Pittsburgh.
