Ex-manager sues Polonia Bank over breach of contract claims

Bank

PHILADELPHIA – A former manager is suing Polonia Bank alleging that the institution violated its contract with him.

Jerry G. Markopoulos filed a complaint Dec. 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Polonia Bank alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, Markopoulos worked as a manager of the defendant from 2007 to 2014 in which capacity he was responsible for several highly profitable areas, such as the residential mortgage loan for the Internet department. In addition to his salary and benefits, the plaintiff's contract stated that he would also receive a commission for certain transactions. In 2014, after receiving his tax information from his accountant, Markopoulos was made aware that he allegedly had been denied a considerable amount of money, approximately $350,000, which was owed to him from transactions that he facilitated. Markopoulos was later terminated and has yet to receive any rectification from Polonia, the suit states.

Markopoulos is seeing compensation for all lost wages, commissions and all fees incurred. He is represented by Gavin P. Lentz of Bochetto and Lentz PC in Philadelphia.
