Sands Casino Resort customer claims negligence as cause of fall

Casino

PHILADELPHIA – A New York man is suing the Sands Casino Resort alleging negligence in an incident in which he allegedly slipped and fell, injuring himself.

Fred Mario Madorma filed a complaint on Dec. 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Sands Bethworks Gaming LLC, doing business as Sands Casino Resort, in Bethlehem, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Madorma, a guest in the casino on May 5, was walking through the Premier Slots room when he encountered a change in flooring.

The regular flooring of the casino was joined by a marble-like slab, but it was laid out in such a way that the ground was uneven because of a rug, the suit says.

Upon walking over the uneven carpet, Madorma was allegedly caused to fall, thus injuring himself severely. As a result of the fall, the plaintiff suffered a right hip injury, which required extensive medical attention, the complaint states.

Madorma is seeking compensation of more than $150,000. He is represented by Armin Feldman in Lehighton.
