HARRISBURG, Pennsylvania — An Adams County couple is suing Lowe's, alleging a breach of warranty.
George E. Germann and Karen Germann filed a lawsuit May 28 in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania against Watts Water Technologies Inc., Lowe's Companies Inc. and Domestic Plumbing and Heating Inc., alleging breach of warranty.
According to the complaint, on Oct. 4, 2012, Domestic Plumbing installed a new dishwasher at the Germann's home in Ortanna, Pennsylvania, which the plaintiffs had previously purchased at Lowe's, with parts from Watts.
The suit says on June 3, 2013, the supply line from Watts malfunctioned, causing a flow of water into the Germann's property, causing significant damages.
The plaintiffs allege the part malfunctioned and accuse the defendants of failing to prevent such an incident.
The Germanns seek $80,666.67 to cover damages, interest, court costs and a jury trial. The plaintiffs are represented by attorney Richard S. Canciello of Poerio & Walter Inc. in Pittsburgh.
