Woman claims injuries from defective airbag

Car accident 01

HARRISBURG — A woman is suing General Motors LLC, Takata Corporation, TK Holdings Inc. and Highland Industries Inc., citing alleged design defect, insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries, liability, negligence and product liability.

Sharon K. Zehner filed a complaint on May 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania against the defendants, alleging that they manufactured a defective product that caused injuries to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in a May 30, 2014 auto crash, she sustained serious injuries to her eyes when an airbag deployed in a defective manner, necessitating immediate medical attention that cost her money. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly manufactured a defective vehicle that contained a defective airbag system that when deployed, caused the bag fabric to lodge in the plaintiff's eyes.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of $75,000 plus interest, punitive damages and court costs. She is represented by Armin Feldman of Armin Feldman in Lehighton.
