Government seeks repayment of debt

PITTSBURGH — The federal government is suing Steven E. Ray, a/k/a Steven F. Ray, alleging an unpaid debt.

The United States of America filed a complaint on Aug. 1 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against the defendant, alleging that he failed to pay his debt to the plaintiff for the principal amount plus interest.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that the United States of America suffered damages as the result of an unpaid debt. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible because he allegedly failed to pay the plaintiff despite demands made by the plaintiff.

The plaintiff seeks the sum of $9,179.78 for capital balance plus interest, administrative fees, costs of $17,911.05, attorney's fees at 30 percent of $17,911.05 plus interest, and any further relief the court grants. It is represented by Robert S. Bernstein of Bernstein-Burkley, P.C. in Pittsburgh.
