Woman claims harm from inaccurate credit report

PITTSBURGH — A woman is suing Credit Acceptance Corporation and Equifax Information Services LLC, consumer reporting agencies, citing alleged negligent misrepresentation.

Malia N. Frye filed a complaint on Aug. 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against the defendants, alleging that they reported inaccurate information regarding her credit history.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she has sustained damages and financial harm in the form of credit denials and loan opportunities. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to correct and continued to report inaccurate information regarding her credit.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, statutory damages, punitive damages, an order to delete all inaccurate information regarding hers credit report and any further relief the court grants. She is represented by Brent F. Vullings of Vullings Law Group, LLC in Collegeville.
