PHILADELPHIA — A mother of a disabled child is suing The Devereux Foundation, d/b/a Devereux Pocono Center, alleging negligence in residential care.
Diana L. Ramsey, as administratrix of the estate of Megan Louise Ramsey, and as parent and legal guardian of Megan Louise Ramsey in her own right, filed a complaint on Jan. 25 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Devereux Pocono Center, alleging that the residential care provider failed to properly evaluate Megan Louise Ramsey's condition.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in July 2014, Megan Louise Ramsey suffered a bowel perforation that led to her death. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to recognize the severity of Megan Louise Ramsey's condition in a timely manner.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for punitive and compensatory damages, plus interest and court costs. She is represented by Mark W. Tanner and Evan Y. Liu of Feldman, Shepherd, Wohlgelernter, Tanner, Weinstock, & Dodig, LLP in Philadelphia.
