PHILADELPHIA — An employee has filed a class action lawsuit against PPL Services Corporation, her employer, citing alleged violation of the Family and Medical Leave Act.
Alicia Watkinson filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against PPL Services Corporation, alleging that the employer denied the plaintiff's request to exercise her rights to FMLA leave.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2014, she suffered damages from being denied her FMLA leave. The plaintiff holds PPL Services Corporation responsible because the defendant allegedly classified the plaintiff's absence as leaving work without permission despite her right to FMLA leave.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks injunction against the defendant, compensatory damages, liquidated damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Ronald T. Tomasko and Cayla B. Jakubowitz of JSDC Law Offices in Hershey.
