Motorist accused of failure to control vehicle

Car accident 05

PITTSBURGH — A motorist is suing Ashley Rager and Timothy Swango, driver and vehicle owner, alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.

Ronald Runkel filed a complaint on Aug. 30, in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against the defendants, alleging that Rager failed to control the vehicle she was driving, which was owned by Swango.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 25, 2014, he sustained several injuries to his body in a collision with the vehicle driven by Rager. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because Rager allegedly failed to assure a clear distance ahead while maintaining proper control of a vehicle.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds the arbitration limits of the court, including interest and court costs. He is represented by Daniel L. McCune of Selliti, Nogay & McCune in Weirton, W.Va.
