Woman says Advertising Specialty Institute violated wage laws

PHILADELPHIA — A woman has filed a class-action lawsuit against Advertising Specialty Institute Inc., alleging that the company failed to pay her overtime wages.

Michele Hope filed a complaint on Sept. 7 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Advertising Specialty Institute Inc., alleging that the employer failed to fairly compensate the plaintiff for her work.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she worked for more than 40 hours per week without being paid any overtime compensation. The plaintiff holds Advertising Specialty Institute Inc. responsible for allegedly violating federal and state wage laws.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks unpaid compensation, liquidated damages, all court costs and any further relief the court grants.
