PITTSBURGH — A former bartender has filed a class action lawsuit against Granite City Food & Brewery Ltd. and Doe Defendants 1-10, claiming the former employers underpaid her.

Chelsea Koenig filed a complaint on Sept. 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against the defendants, alleging that they failed to fairly compensate her for her work.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2014 she was underpaid due to improper application of a tip credit. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly violating the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Pennsylvania Minimum Wage Act.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an injunction against the defendants, unpaid minimum wage, liquidated damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Gary F. Lynch, Benjamin J. Sweet and Jamisen A. Etzel of Carlson Lynch Sweet Kilpela & Carpenter, LLP in Pittsburgh; Gerald D. Wells, III and Robert J. Gray of Connolly Wells & Gray, LLP in King of Prussia;  and Michael K. Yarnoff of Kehoe Law Firm, P.C. in Philadelphia.
