PITTSBURGH — An administrator of a deceased woman's estate has filed a wrongful death claim alleging that a collision involving a police vehicle involved negligence on the part of several parties.
Anthony Igwe, as the administrator of the estate of Priscilla L. Robinson, is suing the officer, Jeremy Skaggs; Municipality of Monroeville; Global Traffic Technologies Inc.; Global Traffic Technologies LLC; and The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Transportation, alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.
Igwe filed a complaint on Sept. 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against the defendants, alleging that Skaggs recklessly drove his vehicle into the decedent's car and that traffic control systems failed to prevent the collision.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 8, 2014, Robinson sustained severe physical injuries that led to her death. The plaintiff says Skaggs ran a red light and hit Robinson's car.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of the court plus interest and any further relief this court grants.
