PITTSBURGH — A man is suing Aetna Life Insurance Company and CA Inc. Short-Term Disability Plan, alleging breach of contract.
Mark Campbell filed a complaint on Sept. 19 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against the defendants, alleging that they improperly denied his claim for disability benefits.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in October 2014, he became disabled as a result of a stroke and was initially approved for short-term disability benefits. However, he alleges, those benefits were terminated and he did not receive long-term disability benefits, and he holds until its termination. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly denied payment based on the review of a non-examining physician.
The plaintiff seeks disability benefits including past due benefits, court costs and interest, plus any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Gregory G. Paul of Morgan & Paul, PLLC in Pittsburgh.
