Waynesboro Area School District accused of improperly denying services

HARRISBURG — Two parents are suing Waynesboro Area School District over a denial of services to a child.

Jennifer and James Wishard, on behalf of J.W., filed a complaint on Sept. 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania against Waynesboro Area School District, alleging that the educational institution denied their request for an independent educational evaluation.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they suffered damages from having their request denied. The plaintiffs holds Waynesboro Area School District responsible because the defendant allegedly denied special education services to J.W.

The plaintiffs seek an order for the defendant to pay for the plaintiffs' independent educational evaluation, court costs and any further relief the court grants. They are represented by Phillip A. Drumheiser of Carlile.
