Prudential Insurance Company of America accused of wrongly denying benefits

Insurance 08

PHILADELPHIA — A veteran is suing Prudential Insurance Company of America, citing alleged breach of contract.

Richard Williamson filed a complaint on Oct. 27 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Prudential Insurance Company of America, alleging that the insurance firm improperly terminated his disability benefits.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was disabled and was initially being paid disability benefits until the benefits were suddenly terminated. The plaintiff holds Prudential Insurance Company of America responsible because the defendant allegedly terminated his disability benefits despite his continuing disability according to the terms of the plan.

The plaintiff seeks unpaid disability benefits plus interest, court costs and any further relief the court grants. He is represented by Brian D. Kent of Laffey, Bucci & Kent, LLP in Philadelphia.
