Union alleges more than $175,000 was unlawfully transferred from account

ERIE – A union alleges money was unlawfully transferred from its account.

United Steep, Paper and Forestry, Rubber, Manufacturing, Energy, Allied Industrial and Service Workers Amalgamated Local Union 6346 filed a complaint on Oct. 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against United Steel, Paper and Forestry, Rubber, Manufacturing, Energy, Allied Industrial and Service Workers International Union ("USW"); United Steel, Paper and Forestry, Rubber, Manufacturing, Energy, Allied Industrial and Service Workers Local 13300; Rochard Benson; and Christopher Hortert, alleging conversion, breach of fiduciary duty and other counts.

According to the complaint, $175,582.93 belong to the plaintiff was unlawfully taken from its treasury by the defendants and given to Local 13300. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly transferred assets from the plaintiff despite not having any authority to do so.

The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendant in the amount of $175,582.93, economic damage, court costs plus any further relief the court grants. It is represented by Peter N. Georgiades of Georgiades & Associates PC in Pittsburgh.
