PHILADELPHIA — A consumer is suing TransUnion LLC, Experian Information Solutions Inc. and Equifax Information Services, alleging breach of duty and negligent misrepresentation.
Shannon Karhu filed a complaint on Nov. 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants, alleging that they reported inaccurate information regarding the plaintiff's credit history.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff allegedly lost credit opportunities and sustained credit-score damages. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they defendants allegedly issued false and defamatory statements regarding the plaintiff's credit history to third parties, including inaccurate information about a civil judgment.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, statutory damages, punitive damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Mark D. Mailman, John Soumilas and Geoffrey H. Baskerville of Francis & Mailman, P.C. in Philadelphia.
