Woman claims faulty chair in Family Dollar Store led to a fall

Slip02

PENNSYLVANIA — An individual is suing Family Dollar Stores of Pennsylvania, LLC, an establishment, citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries and negligence.

Christine Palmer filed a complaint on Nov. 22, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Family Dollar Stores of Pennsylvania, LLC alleging that the establishment failed to make sure that the chairs on their premises were free of any defects.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, in October 2015, she sustained bodily injuries from falling on the floor when the chair she was sitting on collapsed. The plaintiff holds Family Dollar Stores of Pennsylvania, LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to make adequate repairs to the chairs found on their premises.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds $75,000 plus court costs, interest and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Brandon A. Swartz and Bryan M. Ferris of Swartz Culleton PC in Newtown, Pennsylvania.
