SCRANTON – A Great Bend man alleges his construction company employer wrongfully terminated him while he was on leave to care for an ill family member.

Eric Griffin filed a complaint on Dec. 6 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania against Don E. Bower Inc. alleging violation of the Family Medical Leave Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was terminated from his employment in June for taking time off for caring for his ill son. The plaintiff holds Don E. Bower Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly terminated plaintiff's employment despite being protected by FMLA.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks back wages, front pay, bonuses not less than $150,000, monetary compensation, liquidated damages, court costs and interest plus any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Michael Murphy of Murphy Law Group LLC in Philadelphia.
