PITTSBURGH – A West Mifflin woman alleges her insurer acted in bad faith after she filed for damages following a single-car crash.
Marissa Sciulli filed a complaint on Nov. 1 in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against Geico General Insurance Co., alleging breach of duty.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she drove her car into a fire hydrant in 2014 and filed a claim for damages with her insurer Geico. The plaintiff seeks damages because Geico allegedly informed her that it had sent her a notice that her policy was canceled, which she alleges may be untrue because she didn't receive such a notice.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds the jurisdiction limits of this court, punitive damages, interest, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is representing herself.
