PITTSBURGH — Administrators of a deceased man's estate are suing United States Steel Corporation and Solid Platforms Inc., alleging wrongful death.

Darlene Dalton and Domonique Dalton, co-administrators and personal representatives of the estate of Parrish Sewell, filed a complaint on Nov. 3 in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against the defendants, alleging failure to ensure a safe work environment.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that Sewell was on scaffolding erected by Solid Platforms to perform work at a United States Steel plant when he fell from an unprotected part of the scaffolding and plunged 58 feet to his death. The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible for the alleged failure to keep the workplace safe.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds $50,000 plus court costs and interest. They are represented by V. Paul Bucci, II and Brian D. Kent of Laffey, Bucci & Kent, LLP in Philadelphia.
