Burger King Corporation, franchisee blamed for alleged fall on ice

Slip02

PHILADELPHIA — A woman is suing Burger King Corporation and franchisee Patterson-Erie Corporation, alleging negligence in connection with a fall on ice.

Yvonne Caldwell filed a complaint on Dec. 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against the defendants, alleging that they failed to safely maintain their property.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 28, 2015, she suffered physical injuries when she fell on ice at a Fairview Burger King. The plaintiff holds Patterson-Erie Corporation and Burger King Corporation responsible because the defendants allegedly allowed the dangerous condition and failed to warn the plaintiff about it.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds $75,000 plus any other relief as this court deems just. She is represented by Brian Chapin York of Brian Chapin York, Esq. in Jamestown, New York.
