Promptu Systems alleges patent infringement by Comcast

PHILADELPHIA — A California corporation is suing Pennsylvania companies Comcast Corporation and Comcast Cable Communications LLC, alleging patent infringement.

Promptu Systems Corporation filed a complaint on Dec. 19 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants, alleging that they infringed on three of the plaintiff's patents.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Promptu Systems Corporation suffered damages to its business. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for alleged patent infringement involving the "method and apparatus for voice control of a television control device."

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages plus interest, an injunction against the defendants, treble damages, actual damages, punitive damages, profits, court costs and any further relief this court grants. It is represented by David H. Marion of White and Williams LLP in Philadelphia.
