PHILADELPHIA -- A group of corporations is suing AMEC Foster Wheeler Environmental & Infrastructure Inc., a Georgia company, citing alleged breach of contract and breach of warranty.
Cottman Avenue PRP Group, Baltimore Gas & Electric Company, Consolidated Edison Company of New York Inc., Jersey Central Power & Light Company, Long Island Lighting Company doing business as Lipa, Metropolitan Edison Company, Orange and Rockland Utilities Inc., PECO Energy Company, Potomac Electric Power Company, PPL Electric Utilities Corporation, Public Service Electric and Gas Company, and Virginia Electric and Power Company filed a complaint on Dec. 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against AMEC, alleging the company failed to manufacture a sheet pile wall that is free of any defects.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege they suffered damages to their business. The companies hold AMEC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to design and manufacture the sheet pile wall properly to prevent the migration of contaminants to the Delaware River.
The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendant in an amount not less than $1.5 million, court costs not less than $220,000, damages, declaratory judgment, and any further relief this court grants.
