PHILADELPHIA – Former employees of a Berwyn company allege they were not paid minimum or overtime wages during their employment.
Jose Luis Mora Bedolla and Andres Martin Jurado Perez filed a complaint on Jan. 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Lewis J. Brandolini III and Brandolini Cos. citing the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Pennsylvania Minimum Wage Act and the Pennsylvania Wage Payment and Collection Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs are former employees of the defendants. Bedolla alleges he worked for the defendants as a landscaper from June 2014 to September 2017 and was terminated in retaliation for his complaints about not receiving overtime compensation. He also alleges he was not paid a minimum wage.
Perez alleges he worked for the defendants as a landscaper from June 2015 to April 2017 and also was not paid overtime compensation or a minimum wage.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek compensatory damages, punitive damages, reinstatement, unpaid premium compensation, unpaid minimum wages, liquidated damages, damages, interest, court costs and any further relief the court grants.
