Lawyer alleges she was wrongfully terminated from attorney general's office

PITTSBURGH – A Presto attorney alleges she was terminated in retaliation from her job with the attorney general's office and is seeking reinstatement.

Rita J. Cindrich filed a complaint on Dec. 20, 2017, in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against Michael Fisher, in his former capacity as attorney general and individually, et al. citing the False Claims Act and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is an attorney and was hired by the former Attorney General Ernest T. Preate in 1993. The suit states her duties included reviewing fiduciary accounts to "determine proper distribution, the reasonableness of fees and distributions and the proper allocation of taxes.

She alleges she discovered improper and/or unlawful conduct that occurred in the attorney general's office, was retaliated against and terminated in April 2005.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks granting habeas relief to the plaintiff, monetary damages, name clearing hearing, reinstatement, double back pay, damages and special damages, court costs, compensatory damages, punitive damages, and any further relief the court grants. She is representing herself.
