Ohio company claims Climbing Innovations LLC infringed patent with climbing product

Patents 04

PHILADELPHIA – An Ohio company that crafts products for use in tree climbing alleges an Exton company and Georgia man have infringed its rights under a patent.

Weaver Leather LLC filed a complaint on Jan. 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Climbing Innovations LLC, in care of Pennsylvania Business Systems LLC, and Richard Mumford alleging patent infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is the sole assignee of the right, title and interest in the '190 patent, titled "Knee ascender assembly for rope climbing."

The plaintiff holds Climbing Innovations LLC and Mumford responsible because the defendants allegedly manufacture and sells their self-advancing knee ascender product that infringes at least one claim of the '190 patent.

The plaintiff seeks to enjoin the defendants from further infringing the '190 patent, account and pay damages to the plaintiff, interest, court costs and any further relief the court grants. It is represented by Kevin R. Casey and Corey S.D. Norcross of Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young LLP in Malvern.
