HARRISBURG – A Scranton woman alleges a financial institution invaded her privacy with its calls.

Katherine Klimek filed a complaint on Jan. 25 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania against Chase Bank USA NA alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was damaged as the result of being contacted several times on her cellular telephone by the defendant. She alleges the defendant used an automatic dialing system.

The plaintiff holds Chase Bank USA NA responsible because the defendant's calls allegedly invaded her privacy and intruded upon her seclusion.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for statutory damages between $500 and $1,500 per call, court costs and any further relief the court grants. She is represented by Brett Freeman of Sabatini Law Firm LLC in Dunmore.
