Platinum Painters alleged to owe more than $10,000 to union funds

PHILADELPHIA – A Trevose company is alleged to have failed to remit contributions to a labor union's funds.

International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council No. 21 Health and Welfare Fund, et al. filed a complaint on Feb. 2 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Platinum Painters citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council No. 21 and the defendant are subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The plaintiffs allege the defendant failed to remit benefit contributions from February to November 2017 and that $13,865.70 is owed. 

The plaintiffs seek the amount of $13,865.70, injunctive relief, interest at the rate of 5 percent, court costs and any further relief the court grants. They are represented by Martin W. Milz and Syretta Jasmine Martin of Spear Wilderman PC in Philadelphia.
