READING – The owner of adult motion pictures alleges an individual who uses Comcast Cable Communications as his/her Internet service provider is infringing its films.
Strike 3 Holdings LLC filed a complaint on Jan. 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against John Doe subscriber assigned IP address 76.98.118.76 alleging copyright infringement.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff owns award-winning adult motion pictures. It alleges the defendant has downloaded and distributed 33 of its motion pictures using BitTorrent.
The plaintiff alleges it used geolocation software to determine the defendant resides in the court's district.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendant from further infringing plaintiff's copyrighted works, order the defendant to delete all of plaintiff's media files, statutory damages, court costs and any further relief the court grants.
