READING – A Camden, New Jersey company is alleged to have failed to remit contributions to labor union funds.
Sheet Metal Workers' Health & Welfare Fund of Local No. 19, et al. filed a complaint on Feb. 15 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Camden Mechanical LLC citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs and defendant are parties to a collective bargaining agreement that requires the defendant to make contributions to the plaintiff funds on a timely basis. The plaintiffs allege the defendant has failed to remit the required contributions from May to October 2017.
The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendant in the amount of $96,101.14, court costs, interest, injunctive relief, liquidated damages and any further relief the court grants. They are represented by Martin W. Milz and Syretta J. Martin of Spear Wilderman PC in Philadelphia.
