PITTSBURGH – A Lawrence woman alleges a Ford vehicle she purchased has defects that have not been repaired despite attempts to do so.

Melissa L. Sabo filed a complaint on Feb. 1 in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against Ford Motor Co. citing the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Improvement Act and the Pennsylvania Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2015, she purchased a new 2015 Ford C-Max that had several defects, including check engine light illuminating and overheating issues. She alleges the repair attempts have been ineffective by the defendant through its authorized dealers.

The plaintiff holds Ford Motor Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to repair the defects found on the plaintiff's vehicle to conform the vehicle to its warranties.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount of more than $35,000 plus collateral charges, court costs and any further relief the court grants. She is represented by Robert A. Rapkin of Kimmel & Silverman PC in Ambler.
