Canon alleges The Supplies Guys replacement cartridges infringe patents

Patents 02

EASTON – A Lancaster company is alleged to have violated patents owned by Canon.

Canon Inc. filed a complaint on Feb. 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against The Supplies Guys LLC alleging patent infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff owns several patents regarding process cartridges and the defendant sells replacement toner cartridges for use in Canon and HP laser beam printers.

The plaintiff holds The Supplies Guys LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly sells toner cartridges and other components that infringe plaintiff's patents.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks to enjoin the defendant from further infringing plaintiff's patents, pay damages due to the plaintiff, court costs, interest and any further relief the court grants.

It is represented by John J. Murphy III of Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young LLP in Cherry Hill, New Jersey; Joseph T. Kelleher of Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young LLP in Philadelphia; and Michael P. Sandonato, Dennis J. McMahon, Seth E. Boeshore and Andrew J. Kutas of Fitzpatrick, Cella, Harper & Scinto in New York.
