Mellott's Heavy Hauling, RLC Logistics accused of failing to pay for damaged property

SCRANTON — A company is suing Frederick J. Mellott d/b/a Mellott's Heavy Hauling and Robert Clarkson d/b/a RLC Logistics for alleged breach of contract and liability.

Schilli Transportation Services Inc. filed a complaint on March 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, alleging that the defendants failed to protect its property during transport.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered financial damages due its property allegedly being severely damaged during transport. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly breaching their contractual agreement with the plaintiff by allegedly refusing to pay for the damaged goods they were transporting.

The plaintiff seeks damages from the defendants in the amount of $211,014.37 for the cost of repairing damage, plus court costs and any further relief this court grants. They are represented by Robert G. Rothstein of Seaton & Husk L.P. in Vienna, Va.
