West Penn Mechanicals overcharged for renovation work, consumer alleges

Law money 05

PITTSBURGH – A Sewickley woman alleges she was overcharged more than $100,000 by a New Castle company she hired to perform renovations.

Lisa M. Merkel filed a complaint on March 7 in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against West Penn Mechanicals LLC and Henry J. Dissalvatore.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff entered into an oral contract with the defendants to perform renovations at a Sewickley property in January 2017. The plaintiff alleges the defendants overcharged her by submitting invoices with inflated labor costs, working in an inefficient manner, billing for materials not used and other items.

The plaintiff holds West Penn Mechanicals LLC and Dissalvatore responsible because the defendants allegedly have refused her demands for accounting.

The plaintiff demands that the defendants file a full and complete account of all labor and material charges on the project, including all credit due to the plaintiff. She is represented by Robert J. Amelio in Pittsburgh.
