PITTSBURGH — A married couple is suing Eichenlaub Inc. for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.

Kathryn J. Fine and Michael J. Fine filed a complaint on March 14 in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County, alleging that the defendant failed to keep its premises reasonably safe for Kathryn J. Fine.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that Kathryn J. Fine fell down and struck her forehead due to unprotected rebar that allegedly was sticking out of the ground. The plaintiffs hold the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to warn Kathryn J. Fine that the steps had been removed. Additionally, Michael J. Fine claims that he had to pay for medical expenses and lost the consortium, or companionship, of his wife.

The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of this court, plus interest and court costs. They are represented by Wayne M. Chiurazzi of The Chiurazzi Law Group in Pittsburgh.
