PHILADELPHIA — An employee has filed a lawsuit against National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak) for alleged negligence.

Emmanuel Ohuabunwa filed a complaint on March 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, alleging that the defendant failed to provide him with a reasonably safe work environment.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he sustained serious physical injuries on May 13 when he allegedly slipped and fell due to oil, grease or another similar substance that allegedly was left on the floor. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to properly maintain the pump fixture on its property in order to make sure that it wouldn't leak oil or grease.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds $150,000. He is represented by Michael J. Olley and Lawrence A. Katz of Coffey Kaye Myers & Olley in Bala Cynwyd, Pa.
