PITTSBURGH — An estate administrator is suing University of Pittsburgh Medical Center a/k/a UPMC and UPMC Passavant Hospital for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.
John A. Dodaro, administrator of the estate of Martha S. Dodaro, filed a complaint on March 16 in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County, alleging that the defendants failed to provide Martha S. Dodaro with proper medical care.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Martha S. Dodaro sustained serious physical injuries, including a large frontal scalp hematoma, due to allegedly suffering a fall that also allegedly contributed to the deterioration of her overall health. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to adequately supervise and assist Martha S. Dodaro in order to prevent her from falling.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds $50,000 plus punitive damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Ryan J. Duty of Wilkes & McHugh P.A. in Pittsburgh.
