Driver accused of negligence after allegedly backing up into pedestrian

PITTSBURGH — An individual is suing Amber Pieffer for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.

William Wimer filed a complaint on March 29 in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County, alleging that the defendant failed to properly control her vehicle, which allegedly caused it to strike him while she was backing up.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he sustained physical injuries on April 22, 2016 when he allegedly was struck by a vehicle that was backing up. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to keep a proper look out while backing up to make sure that she did not hit him.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds $35,000. He is represented by Gary J. Ogg, David Kennedy Houck and Eve M. Elsen of Ogg, Murphy & Perkosky P.C. in Pittsburgh.
