Nissan North America Inc. and No. 1 Cochran Infiniti of South Hills Inc. accused of product liability

Insurance 04

PITTSBURGH — Two insurance companies are suing Nissan North America Inc. and No. 1 Cochran Infiniti of South Hills Inc. for alleged design defect,  product liability and negligence.

Donegal Mutual Insurance Company a/s/o Frank Mannetti and Atlantic State Insurance Co. a/s/o Frank and Lauren Mannetti filed a complaint on March 27 in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County, alleging that the defendants' vehicle started a fire in a property that had insurance coverage issued by the plaintiffs.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they suffered financial damages on April 25, 2016 as a result of allegedly paying for damages done to the Mannettis' property. The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to properly design their vehicle, which allegedly caused it to start a fire.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of this court, plus court costs and any further relief this court grants. They are represented by Michael J. Hopkins and Shane Fulton of the Law Offices of Robert A. Stutman P.C. in Fort Washington.
