Ameritas Life Insurance Corp. allegedly breached insurance contract

PHILADELPHIA — An individual is suing Ameritas Life Insurance Corp. for alleged breach of contract.

Stuart Himmelstein filed a complaint on March 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, alleging that the insurance company denied claim.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was entitled to disability benefits, but the defendant allegedly denied his claim. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly refusing to pay for his disability claim even though he allegedly was insured.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for compensatory damages, punitive damages, interest, court costs and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Marc A. Weinberg of Saffren & Weinberg in Jenkintown, Pa.
