Moon Area School District accused of copyright infringement

PITTSBURGH — An individual is suing Moon Area School District and Ronald Ledbetter for alleged copyright infringement.

Keith F. Bell filed a complaint on March 29 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, alleging that the defendants copied his book without consent.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was damaged because a text allegedly was taken from his book, copied and posted on social media without his consent. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly posting a textual representation of the his book on Twitter without his authorization.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants for copyright infringement. Additionally, he claims that he is entitled to damages in an amount that will be determined at trial. He is represented by Joshua D. Waterston of Elman Technology Law P.C. in Media, Pa.
