St. Luke's University Health Network accused of firing employee in retaliation for requesting medical leave

Wrongful term 10

PHILADELPHIA — An individual is suing St. Luke's University Health Network, her former employer, citing alleged retaliation and wrongful termination.

Frances Pellegrino filed a complaint on April 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, alleging that the defendant violated the Family Medical Leave Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges she was fired on Dec. 27, 2017 for requesting intermittent FMLA leave and a reduced work schedule due to her mother's serious health problems and her own medical issues. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly subjecting her to retaliation and firing her for requesting FMLA-protected leave.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages, cost, expenses and all other equitable and legal relief that is proper and appropriate. She is represented by Jonathan W. Chase of Kraemer, Manes & Associates LLC in Philadelphia.
