PHILADELPHIA — An individual is suing Berks Credit & Collections Inc. and Equifax Credit Information Services Inc., citing alleged inaccurate credit reporting.
Dale T. Robertson Jr. filed a complaint on April 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, alleging that the defendants violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he discovered that his account was being wrongfully reported as delinquent on his credit report. As a result of the defendants' allegedly inaccurate reporting, his credit score declined and his credit line increase was denied. The plaintiff claims that he suffered distress, embarrassment and a damaged reputation. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly falsely reporting his account as delinquent, failing to mark it as disputed and for allegedly failing to conduct a reasonable investigation.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual, punitive and statutory damages; attorney's fees; costs; and any other appropriate relief. He is represented by Michael P. Forbes of the Law Office of Michael P. Forbes PC in Wayne.
