PHILADELPHIA — A former employee is suing the City of Philadelphia for allegedly subjecting her to a hostile work environment and sexual and religious harassment.

An unknown plaintiff filed a complaint on April 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, alleging that the defendant violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was subjected to harassment and discriminatory conduct while she worked for the defendant. The plaintiff claims that her supervisor allegedly made repeated unwanted sexual comments and advances, which allegedly caused her to suffer a panic attack, other health issues, irreparable mental and physical injuries and monetary damages. The plaintiff, who is a Muslim, also claims that her supervisor made discriminatory comments about her religion and holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to protect her from his alleged misconduct.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks economic, compensatory and punitive damages; attorney's fees; costs; and all other appropriate relief. She is represented by Steven Auerbach of the Law Office of Steven T. Auerbach in Narberth, Pa.
