State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company accused of wrongfully refusing to pay underinsured motorist benefits

HARRISBURG — An individual is suing State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company for allegedly breaching an insurance contract.

Tamara Leone filed a complaint on April 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, alleging that the defendant breached its duties of good faith and fair dealing.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was a passenger in a motor vehicle owned by Eric Howell on July 4, 2009 when she allegedly was injured in an accident. Howell allegedly did not have underinsured motorist insurance. She claims that she suffered injuries and damages. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing and refusing to pay her claim for underinsured motorist benefits.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds $300,000, plus interest and costs. She is represented by Dennis M. Abrams in Bala Cynwyd.
