Universal Medical Administration Services LLC accused of firing employee because of her disability

PITTSBURGH — An individual is suing her former employer, Universal Medical Administration Services LLC, for alleged disability discrimination and wrongful termination.

Jennifer Newman filed a complaint on April 19 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, alleging that the defendant violated the American with Disabilities Act and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was fired from her job the day after the defendant allegedly learned that she had a disability. As a result, the plaintiff claims that she has suffered financial damages. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly firing her when it discovered via a third party that she had a disability.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks lost wages, punitive damages, pre-judgment interest, court costs and all other just and proper relief. She is represented by Blaire E. Patrick of Kraemer, Manes & Associates LLC in Pittsburgh.
